Grand Opening Merigo Restaurants

This assignment took us from the West Midlands to South Yorkshire and finally to Merseyside.
The client was MeriGo, a food establishment serving a variety of flame-grilled Piri Piri chicken, gourmet burgers, and fast-casual street food. Their motto is “Peri Peri Done Right” and, trust me, they are not lying.
The first franchise opened in Birmingham, on Bull Street in the city centre. We set up on the ground floor, keeping it fairly compact.
People began queuing outside, as the first 50 customers were to receive a free chicken and rice box. We tailored the music to the crowd throughout the day: college students in the morning, followed by families and older customers later on.
People requested songs, filmed videos, and posted on social media. Our main objective was to promote the brand, so we engaged directly with customers and passers-by, creating a lively atmosphere that matched MeriGo’s identity.
The franchisee was so impressed that he wanted to book us again the next day, but we were already committed to another event. A few days later, he booked us for his Sheffield launch, this time for two full days, Friday and Saturday, from 11 am to 9 pm.
With the shop all on one floor, we had more space to set up. We placed a speaker outside for maximum coverage, displayed the MeriGo logo on our screen, and customised the lighting to match their green and white branding.
Next up was Liverpool, right in the heart of the city centre. The footfall was huge, the weather was perfect, and the city was vibing from morning till night. It was the ideal environment for a high-energy brand launch. We took to the streets, engaging with people and spreading the word.
The city was treated to a performance from MC LyriKal, displaying his freestyling talents while incorporating the MeriGo brand, Supafly Roadshow, and the offers available.
All in all, it was a genuinely enjoyable experience. The feedback from the owners, the staff, and the public was overwhelmingly positive, and it was clear that the launch made a real impact.
The food speaks for itself, and the price point is spot on. If you haven’t already, do check out MeriGo, where Peri Peri is truly done right.
