Summer Solstice

This event took place on 22nd June 2024, the longest day of the year. The organiser was a returning customer who was hosting a summer solstice party at their place of residence in Bromsgrove. When I say it was in the middle of nowhere, I mean IT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE! I didn't see any shops for at least 10 miles, upon arrival we are taken aback at the sheer size of the place, I'm talking stately home vibes.

There was a marquee at the rear so we started to set up, we needed the 50 metre extension for this one. Two top speakers and 1 sub woofer were more than enough. We kept the lighting and smoke off until the sun set.

It's 6pm, we're all set up and the people start to arrive. The dress code was all white. I opted for white shorts with white half sleeve shirt and white trainers while DJ Kal donned a white blazer, white jeans with white shoes There were around 60 people in total. We started by playing some chilled out Ibiza tunes to set the mood. It's around 8pm by now, a pleasant 22 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. There was a mobile cocktail bar, Indian street food stand and imitation palm trees which looked kinda real to be fair. The food was well tasty. I forgot their name but shout out to them. They had chicken tikka wrapped in a paratha with all fillings and sauce. There was a chicken box thing and veggie options also.

The dancefloor was rocking from early doors. It was a wonderfully mixed crowd. We had requests to play all sorts, such as garage, dancehall and motown. The sun set around 22:15 which is when we powered up the LED lights to colour wash the marquee. Then the moving gobo lights together with the smoke transformed the whole place creating a great atmosphere.

The party was scheduled to finish at midnight but went on till 01:30, we were having such a good time we hardly noticed. Good vibes man.

Big up to everyone that was there.
